Rant and Rave: Reader frustrated by fireworks amid power outage

RANT to those in the Marysville area who felt compelled to follow their obsession with setting off fireworks while so many of us were suffering through days of a power outage. How insensitive to the feelings of others can one be?

RAVE to the Seattle Public Utilities water crew on Third Avenue Northwest in Shoreline near Hillwood Park. I interrupted their day by asking about a water meter that I am having trouble with and they patiently explained to me how it works and what to do. Hats off to them and the great customer service they showed!

RANT to the administration of a Mercer Island retirement community for making new parking spaces so narrow that only a contortionist can squeeze out of a vehicle without the car door hitting the car next to them. People needing walkers and assistance to get in and out of cars do not have room to maneuver.
